The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested two individuals in connection with an arson incident at a residence in Oyarifa, Greater Accra Region.
In a press release dated December 27, 2025, the police identified the suspects as Jennifer Mae Tomlinson, a Canadian national, and her Ghanaian boyfriend, Mohammed Issah. The arrests followed investigations into a fire that destroyed an apartment on December 23, 2025.
Preliminary findings suggest the suspects, who were tenants of the property, deliberately set the fire without provocation. Mohammed Issah was arrested on the day of the incident by the Ayimensah Abokobi Police, while Jennifer Mae Tomlinson initially evaded capture but was arrested from a hideout on December 25.
Both suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue. The CID confirmed they will be charged in court in accordance with the law.
