Chamber of Mines commends gov’t breakthrough in Adamus Resources dispute.

The Ghana Chamber of Mines has commended the Government of Ghana for steps taken to resolve the impasse involving Adamus Resources Limited.

In a statement issued on Friday, August 21, 2026, the Chamber welcomed an agreement to implement a 12-month roadmap aimed at turning around the mine, supported by a six-member joint management team.

The Chamber said the collaborative approach demonstrates a commitment to dialogue, investor confidence, and the preservation of productive mining assets.

According to the Chamber, the successful revival of Adamus Resources is critical to protecting jobs, sustaining local businesses and host communities, and preserving the mine’s contribution to government revenue and Ghana’s wider mining value chain.

The Chamber particularly commended the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and the leadership of the Minerals Commission for their efforts in reaching what it described as a practical way forward.

It also acknowledged Adamus Resources Limited for its constructive engagement in efforts to resolve the dispute.

The Chamber urged all parties to maintain transparency, accountability, and commitment to the agreed roadmap.

It further called for outstanding liabilities to be addressed and the necessary investment secured to ensure the sustainable operation of the mine.

The Ghana Chamber of Mines said it remains ready to support efforts aimed at protecting investments and jobs, promoting responsible local participation and strengthening the long-term contribution of the mining sector to Ghana’s development.
