The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two brothers in connection with the shooting death of a 54-year-old car dealer at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, near Weija.
The deceased, Mohammed Rahman, was shot while returning home from an evening walk with his wife, Christiana Fosu, on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
Police say the suspect, Adams Adder Almeida, admitted to the shooting during interrogation, claiming the deceased repeatedly described him as “lazy and useless” and that the remarks had affected him mentally.
Rahman was rushed to Finney Hospital in Weija but was pronounced dead on arrival. His wife, who was also shot, was referred to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and is responding to treatment.
Adams and his brother, Bala Bilyon, who reportedly works with the deceased, were arrested following a police manhunt.
According to police, Adams led investigators to his brother’s room, where a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered from beneath a well drop.
He also allegedly told police that the weapon had been given to him by a friend identified as Gideon. Investigators later went to Gideon’s residence at Tuba, but he was not found.
Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting are ongoing.
