Black Stars’ Andre Dede Ayew Joins Dutch Eredivisie Side NAC Breda on Free Transfer

Black Stars forward Andre Dede Ayew has officially signed with Dutch Eredivisie club NAC Breda on a free transfer. The 36-year-old attacker has penned a contract until the end of the season, with an option to extend for another year.

Ayew, who has been unattached since leaving French side Le Havre in August, brings a wealth of experience to Breda’s squad. He has earned 120 caps for Ghana’s national team and has featured for top European clubs including Olympique Marseille, Swansea City, and West Ham United.

Having stayed fit in Ghana in recent months, Ayew is eager to help NAC Breda fight for survival in the Dutch top flight. Speaking on his arrival, Ayew said, “I’m someone who really enjoys challenges, both personally and as part of a team at NAC. I want to do everything I can to help the club and my teammates.” He emphasized the importance of mentality, adding, “The mental aspect is perhaps the most important in this situation. Together with our supporters, we must fight this battle head-on in the second half of the season.”

NAC Breda’s Technical Director, Peter Maas, welcomed Ayew, stating, “André is eager to help NAC in their fight for survival. He’s a true sportsman who takes great care of himself. We believe that with his experience and specific qualities, he can be of great value to NAC right now.”
