Two categories of allowances that were supposed to be paid in November 2025 have been postponed, according to the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD). According to the department, a technical issue that arose during the last payroll run was the reason for the setback.
The CAGD clarified in a press release dated November 25, 2025, that the problem primarily impacts government employees who were anticipating the allowances in addition to their November salaries, as well as workers in the education sector.
The department made the decision to stop processing the impacted allowances in order to avoid a wider delay in the November 2025 salary payments for all government employees.
The technical issue is presently being fixed, according to Cephas N. Doso, Head of Public Relations. On December 18, 2025, he promised the public that the unpaid allowances would be paid along with the December 2025 salaries
.“We regret the inconvenience caused and sincerely appreciate your patience,” the statement concluded.
The Department has encouraged all affected workers to remain calm as efforts continue to restore normal payroll processing.
