A mass burial has been held for 16 victims of the fatal accident that occurred on the Atwedie-Juaso stretch of the Accra-Kumasi highway on Monday, July 28, 2025.
The deceased were members of the Obogu Saviour Church Youth Ministry in the Asante Akyem South District of the Ashanti Region. They were among 18 people who lost their lives when a fuel tanker traveling from Kumasi toward Accra reportedly attempted to overtake another vehicle, resulting in a deadly crash.
The Obogu community has been plunged into deep mourning as it bids farewell to the victims. As part of the burial arrangements, the bodies were not be laid in state. Instead, they were conveyed directly from the morgue to the community cemetery for interment.
