Telecommunications Network Provider, MTN has announced disruptions in data bundle purchase. The development comes on a day when the Mobile Network Operators, MNOs are expected to roll out mega data packages following an intervention from the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation Samuel Nartey George.
Many customers had deferred purchasing data till today July 1 following the earlier announcement by government. The disruption has left many with no access to data on the network. But in a statement management of MTN has attributed the challenge to “a major technical issue”.
Accra News Online has however gathered minister for Communications through the NCA is working closely with MTN to resolve the challenge.

Temporary Disruption To Data Bundle Purchases -1st July 2025
Whilst implementing the data offer, which will provide 15% additional volume of data from
today 1st July 2025, MTN experienced a major technical issue which has affected data
bundle purchases, including the data volume offer. As a result, customers are temporarily
unable to purchase data bundles. We recognize the importance of staying connected and

Technical teams are working to resolve the issue and restore services as soon
as possible.
