Captain of Team Ghana, Joseph Paul Amoah, has expressed confidence in the national team’s readiness ahead of the 24th edition of the CAA African Senior Athletics Championship set to take place in Accra.
The continental competition is scheduled to run from May 12 to May 17 at the University of Ghana Stadium and is expected to attract some of Africa’s top track and field athletes.

Speaking on the sidelines of the official unveiling ceremony for Team Ghana’s kits, Amoah stated that the athletes are fully focused on the task ahead and are not distracted by external pressure or criticism. According to the sprint star, the team is motivated and determined to make Ghanaians proud on home soil.
The experienced sprinter noted that preparations have gone on smoothly and the athletes are eager to compete in front of their home fans as Ghana hosts the prestigious championship for the first time in years.
Meanwhile, the African Games 200-meter medalist also disclosed that he could feature in the men’s 100-meter event during the championship. Amoah, however, indicated that the final decision on the event lineup will be made by his coach in the coming days.
