Newly appointed Minister for Defence, Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, has expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the confidence reposed in him as he takes on a new responsibility in government.
Mr. Adjei, who previously served as Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, said his transition to the Defence Ministry marks “a new chapter of service” to the people of Ghana.
In a statement reflecting on his tenure at the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources, the Minister expressed appreciation to President Mahama for giving him the opportunity to serve in the sector.
“I am profoundly grateful to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama for the confidence reposed in me and the opportunity to serve the people of Ghana as Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources,” he said.
He described his time at the Ministry as a period of service, learning and collaboration, saying he remained committed to delivering on the mandate entrusted to him.
Mr. Adjei also commended staff of the Ministry for their dedication, professionalism and support, noting that the progress recorded during his tenure was the result of collective effort.
“The progress and successes we achieved together would not have been possible without your commitment and sacrifice,” he stated.
As he assumes responsibility for the Defence Ministry, Mr. Adjei said he was approaching the new assignment with humility, renewed energy and a strong sense of duty.
He expressed optimism about the task ahead and pledged to contribute meaningfully to efforts aimed at building “a stronger and more secure Ghana.”
The new Defence Minister also thanked Ghanaians for their continued support, goodwill and prayers, describing their encouragement as a source of strength in the discharge of his public responsibilities.
“The work continues. Let us keep our sleeves rolled up, remain focused and work even harder to deliver for Ghana,” he said.
He further called on all stakeholders to put their hands on deck as the country embraces what he described as a new chapter of service.
“For Ghana. For Service. For Progress,” Mr. Adjei concluded.
