News exclusively available to AccraNewsOnline indicates that President John Dramani Mahama has named Builsa North Member of Parliament James Agalga as new Majority Leader. This follows a government reshuffle, Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga being appointed as a Minister of State.
The Builsa North MP previously served as Deputy Minister for the Interior under President John Dramani Mahama’s first administration.
He holds a Master’s degree in Conflict, Peace and Security from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre and currently serves as Deputy Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, where he has been involved in key discussions on national security and governance matters.
Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, MP for Klottey Korle, has been appointed Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, replacing the late Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.
The changes also see Gilbert Agyei appointed Minister for Defence, while Ahmed Ibrahim takes over as Minister for Works and Housing.
The Presidency says the appointments are aimed at strengthening government coordination and improving the delivery of its agenda.
