Manchester City Seal Marc Guéhi Signing from Crystal Palace

Manchester City have confirmed the signing of England international defender Marc Guéhi from Crystal Palace on a five-and-a-half-year deal.

The transfer is reported to be worth an initial £20 million, with add-ons potentially raising the fee to £25 million.

Guéhi, 25, is widely regarded as one of the top defenders in English football. He captained Crystal Palace to FA Cup success last season and has earned 26 caps for the England national team.

His arrival comes at a crucial time for City, who have been dealing with defensive setbacks due to injuries to key players, including Rúben Dias, Joško Gvardiol, and John Stones.

Guéhi becomes City’s second signing of the January transfer window, following the £64 million acquisition of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth.

Director of Football Hugo Viana described Guéhi as a “huge talent” and “one of the best defenders in English football,” adding that his presence will significantly strengthen the squad.

Speaking after completing the move, Guéhi said he was delighted to join the club, citing Manchester City’s ambition and the opportunity to work under Pep Guardiola as key reasons for his decision.

The signing is expected to boost City’s title ambitions, adding both depth and quality to their defensive line.
