
A coconut seller Kwame Oti will have to look for another space to ply his trade to earn a living. Management of Ghana Post in the Ashanti Region has served him with an eviction notice to vacate the frontage of the Asante Akyem South Office located at Juaso.
In a letter in possession of Accra News Online signed by Konongo-Mampong District Manager Kuubeter Francis, food vendors and livestock sellers have also been directed to vacate the premises with immediate effect.
“Notice is hereby given that you vacate the frontage and premises of Ghana Post Company Limited, Juaso, with IMMEDIATE EFFECT”
“Despite several verbal warnings issued by the Postmaster at Juaso you have failed to comply
Your continued occupation and conduct of business activities including cooking, displaying live animals, and peeling coconut fruits constitute a nuisance to frontage and premises of the facility
You are therefore required to VACATE THE AREA IMMEDIATELY AND WITHOUT DELAY” The letter addressed to the coconut seller further read
Management of Ghana Post in the letter warned of a legal action if the affected individuals fail to comply with the directive.
“Failure to comply with this written notice shall be deemed as WILLFUL DISREGARD OF LAWFUL INSTRUCTION, and appropriate legal action shall be taken against you.” The letter concluded.
Juaso is the capital of the Asante Akyem South District near Konongo in the Ashanti Region.
