Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu says his administration is prepared to provide eyeglasses to critics and citizens who fail to recognize what he describes as the progress being made under his government.
President Tinubu made the remark during a meeting with members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors at the State House in Abuja.
He pointed to ongoing road and bridge projects, efforts to grow the economy and investments in children as evidence of his administration’s achievements under the Renewed Hope agenda.
He said those who fail to see the progress would be given what he referred to as “Jigi Bola” — eyeglasses.
The comment has, however, attracted mixed reactions, with critics arguing that public dissatisfaction is driven largely by the high cost of living and economic hardship rather than an inability to see the government’s projects.
