Amad Diallo’s 13th-minute strike gave United the early advantage, but Bournemouth fought back, with Antoine Semenyo equalising in the 40th minute. Casemiro’s header restored United’s lead just before halftime.
The second half was a goal fest, with Evanilson levelling the score 2-2 just 38 seconds after the restart. Marcus Tavernier’s stunning free kick put Bournemouth ahead 3-2 in the 52nd minute. Bruno Fernandes responded with a brilliant equaliser in the 77th minute, and Matheus Cunha put United ahead 4-3 in the 79th minute.
Bournemouth snatched a late equaliser through Eli Junior Kroupi in the 84th minute, securing a 4-4 draw.
United coach Ruben Amorim expressed disappointment, saying, “The result should’ve been different. We lost focus, conceded two goals, but fought back and scored two more. We need to finish the game.”
Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola praised his team’s performance, saying, “It had everything – moments of pressure, moments of comfort. A fair result, considering the game we played.”
