The viral video, shows Mensah engaging in a heated argument with the pharmacy attendant before hit him and a female customer repeatedly. The woman, who attempted to record the incident on her phone, was hit multiple times, after which the soldier continued to assault the attendant.
The arrest follows a widespread public outrage over the incident. Williams Mensah who was arrested by the Military Police has been taken into custody for questioning and further investigation.
According to a statement from the military, the two victims have been given medical attention.
The Ghana Armed Forces assured the public the said soldier will be dealt with in accordance with law.
