Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, has extended warm New Year wishes to traditional authorities, religious leaders, sector stakeholders and the general public, urging collective commitment to national renewal under government’s “Reset Agenda.”
In his New Year message issued on Thursday, January 1, 2026, the Minister reflected on the spiritual significance of the Christmas season, describing it as a powerful reminder of hope, restoration and rebirth.
He said the values associated with the birth of Christ — humility, peace, moral renewal and unity — should guide Ghana’s social and governance direction in the year ahead.
Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim emphasized that the government’s Reset Agenda represents a deliberate effort to chart a fresh national path anchored on accountability, disciplined economic management, strengthened partnerships with traditional rulers and faith leaders, and deeper empowerment of local communities.
“The Ministry remains committed to ensuring that this renewal is felt in every district and traditional area,” he noted, stressing the need for inclusive governance and community-centered development.
According to him, aligning governance priorities with ethical and spiritual values will contribute significantly to building a fairer and more prosperous nation.
The Minister encouraged Ghanaians to enter 2026 with confidence, unity of purpose and belief in the country’s future. He wished the nation a peaceful and productive year, concluding with a prayer for continued blessings over Ghana
