With immediate effect the Gabonese government has taken stringent and drastic move by dissolving the technical team of the Panthers and suspended the national side until further notice.
This move comes on the back of a poor outing for the Panthers at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament ongoing in Morocco as they failed to win a single game after three group games and failed to seal qualification for the knock out stage an abysmal and shambolic performance for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and his boys.
In the coming days a massive massive overhauling will take place in Gabonese football after a debacle of a tournament in North Africa much like a national embarrassment.
The 2012 and 2017 AFCON hosts completed their campaign in Group F with one points with loses to Cameroon, Mozambique and Ivory Coast.
Gabon’s group stage results at AFCON 2025 were:
– Lost to Cameroon 1-0 on December 24, 2025
– Lost to Mozambique 3-2 on December 28, 2025
– Lost to Ivory Coast 3-2 on December 31, 2025
