Tunisia began their Africa Cup of Nations 2025 campaign with a commanding 3-1 victory against Uganda in Group C at the Stade Olympique Annexe Complexe Sportif Prince Abdellah in Rabat.

Ellyes Skhiri opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a well-placed header, giving Tunisia an early lead. Elias Achouri then doubled the advantage before halftime and secured his brace in the 64th minute, putting Tunisia in full control of the match. Uganda’s Denis Omedi scored a late consolation goal in stoppage time, but it was not enough to alter the outcome.
Dominating possession with 60%, Tunisia created numerous chances while goalkeeper Aymen Dahmen made several key saves to keep Uganda’s attack at bay. The win places Tunisia at the top of Group C, edging Nigeria on goal difference.
Tunisia will face Nigeria next Saturday in Fez, a match that could determine the group winner. Coach Jalel Kadri praised his team’s sharpness and clinical finishing, highlighting Achouri’s standout performance.
