The National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) taskforce has arrested a Galamsey Kingpin, IDDRISU ZAKARI, also known as YAAYAA. Zakari is known for involvement in illegal mining activities within the Osino township including residential areas. He was arrested at Bonsu after agreeing to meet with operatives from NAIMOS to negotiate the release of his thugs arrested and possible halt ongoing investigation into his activities.
NAIMOS recently carried out a raid at Zakari’s galamsey site, on the night of Friday 7 November 2025 during which 32 Nigerien nationals and 4 Ghanaian machete wielding guards were apprehended. IDDRISU ZAKARI has since been handed over to the Ghana Police Service for further investigations according to a statement from NAIMOS.
