The National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, says a 30-bed children’s hospital under construction at the Tafo Government Hospital will be completed and commissioned before the end of the year.
Speaking during a visit to the project site, Mr. Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, said the facility is about 85 percent complete.
In a post on Facebook, Nana B said the project began five years ago as a personal initiative aimed at improving child healthcare services.
According to him, the decision to undertake the project was influenced by the poor state of the hospital’s existing children’s ward, which had long posed challenges for both healthcare workers and families seeking medical care.
He described the progress made on the project as deeply rewarding, noting that seeing the vision take shape has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of his life.
Mr. Boakye expressed optimism that the remaining works would be completed in the coming months, allowing the facility to begin serving children and their families before the close of the year.
“God willing, I will be turning 45… There is no greater birthday gift I could ask for than to witness the completion and commissioning of this facility before the end of the year so that generations of children and their families can receive the quality healthcare they deserve,” he wrote on Facebook
Mr. Boakye also thanked individuals and organizations that have contributed to the construction of the facility and expressed confidence that the project would soon be ready for use.
