The Ghana Air Traffic Safety Engineers Association (GhATSEA) has suspended its planned strike action. The association had announced an industrial action beginning today (Thursday October 30, 2025) to drum home their demand for better condition of service.
The group had accused management of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of neglect. The strike according to analysts would have caused disruptions in operations of airlines in the country despite assurance from the GCAA of contingency measures. In a statement GhATSEA attributed the decision to suspend the intended strike to “constructive engagement with the GCAA governing board and Management”
The group expressed hope the engagements will result in a resolution of their grievances.
“We appreciate the efforts made by all stakeholders during the discussions and remain optimistic that the ongoing engagements will lead to a lasting resolution of all outstanding issues.” The statement read.
In the statement, President of GhATSEA Engr. David Annan Mensah assured the public, partners, and all aviation stakeholders that his outfit remain steadfast in its commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism in the provision of air navigation services across the country.
“We wish to thank the Ag. Director-General Rev. Stephen Wilfred Arthur and Ag. Deputy
Director-General Technical Mr. Theophlus Aryee Ago for their commitment.” He concluded.
