The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has assured airline operators, aviation stakeholders, and the travelling public of uninterrupted air traffic services in spite of the impending industrial action by the Ghana Air Traffic Safety Electronics Association (GhATSEA) scheduled for Thursday, October 30, 2025.
GhATSEA, in a statement issued yesterday, October 28, announced an indefinite industrial action beginning October 30 citing years of unresolved staff grievances and management neglect by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
Responding to the threat, the GCAA says it has activated a CNS/ATM Systems Contingency Plan to ensure operational continuity across the Accra Flight Information Region (FIR). In a statement management of the GCAA disclosed the plan includes a detailed operational procedures, designated response teams, and strong coordination mechanisms to maintain safe and reliable air navigation services for both domestic and international flights.
The Authority has consequently urged all stakeholders and passengers to remain calm and confident in the measures put in place, emphasizing its commitment to upholding aviation safety and service integrity.
The GCAA also reiterated its focus on human capacity development and staff welfare while maintaining the highest standards of air navigation service delivery.
