The Presidential Advisor on the 24-hour economy and Accelerated Export Development, Augustus Goosie Obuodum Tanoh has disclosed the 24-hour economy initiative will be underpinned by 3 pillars including “Aspire-24” as a sub-set which seeks to reset the mindset of the Ghanaian. The main pillars of the flagship policy of the Mahama administration to be launched on Wednesday 2nd July 2025 are: Production Transformation, Supply Chain and market efficiency and human development.
Speaking during a presentation of the 24-hour economy policy document to the speaker of Parliament, Goosie Tanoh stated that the initiative is designed to transform production with agriculture as its main anchor to develop the country’s value chain for greater productivity.
The Presidential advisor disclosed the 3 main pillars of the 24-hour economy and accelerated export development policy will be supported by some sub-groups; “Grow-24 which is the agricultural component, Make-24 which is the manufacturing component, Connect-24 which is the Supply chain component, Aspire-24 which is the Mindset change, that’s resetting the Ghanaian.”
According to him Aspire-24 will also focus on a strong digital technology training through the TVET curriculum to provide employment opportunities.
“Show Ghana” he added will also focus on highlighting Ghana’s vibrant culture to the diaspora, adding that the goal is to bring in more tourists and boost income through tourism.
The Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin in his remarks emphasized on employment opportunities the policy will throw up urging the youth to take advantage. He charged the 24-hour economy office to work towards getting parliamentary approval for the policy document to give it a legal backing to ensure continuity even if power changes hands
