The Bank of Ghana has denied reports of mass dismissals clarifying the move is rather a staff review exercise for some newly recruited employees on probation. There have been media reports more than 100 workers has been issued with dismissal letters by the Central Bank. Some of the letters have been widely circulated on social media prompting questions about the rationale behind such a move.

The Bank of Ghana is yet to officially address the matter by Accra News Online sources within the Central Bank have explained the move is part of a routine exercise which has affected just a limited number of people contrary to claims to the contrary.
“This is a standard part of the onboarding and evaluation process,” according to a close source.
According to the source the Bank followed due process in its internal review, which included performance-based assessments and probation evaluations.
The move is said to align with efforts to maintain professional standards and operational efficiency within the institution.
