The Municipal Chief Executive for Ahafo Ano North in the Ashanti region, Kwasi Adusei has dismissed rumours of his plans to undertake mass transfers. Mr. Adusei has consequently urged staff and heads of government institutions in the municipality to ignore such rumours of transfers or a plot against anyone being peddled around.
He stated that, it is not in his interest as the MCE to transfer any government worker out of the Municipality, adding that, he is ready to work with everyone to push the development agenda of the government of H. E. John Dramani Mahama.
Mr. Adusei gave this assurance at a forum to familiarize himself with the roles of all the institutions in the Municipality. The MCE also used opportunity to interact with the heads of government institutions and staff of the Municipality.
Mr. Adusei assured the various government institutions that his administration will support all of them to achieve their goals since his role will merely be about supervision and much of the work depends on them.
He again assured the Principal of Tepa Nursing and Midwifery Training School Mr. Albert Opoku of his intervention in the perceived attempt to oust him from his position. It’s been rumoured in the Amunicipality that there is high attempt that he would be transferred from the school, which has unsettled students, teachers, opinion leaders and other stakeholders in the Municipality.
Notable among the people calling for the government to rescind this decision is the Tepamanhene, Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem II who led calls by some key figures in the Municipality to appeal to the government on the matter.
Making Ahafo Ano North the Best Municipality
Mr. Adusei shared his vision of making the Municipality one of the best in the country. In doing so, the MCE promised to make at least 70% of roads accessible by January next year. In terms of sanitation, he mentioned that, he want to make the Municipality one of the cleanest in the country and promised to introduce monthly clean up exercise.
The Heads of Department thanked the MCE for and took turn each to outline their core mandate. All of them promised and resolved to work hard to help develop the Municipality and also help the MCE succeed.
Among the HoDs at the meeting included the Director for Education, Health, Principal of Tepa Nursing and Midwifery School, District Director for Ghana Audit Service, Commanders of the Security Institutions and all heads of the decentralized departments of the Assembly.
