The Paul Baffoe-Bonnie has urged newly qualified lawyers to uphold the highest standards of integrity, emphasizing that the practice of law is a duty rooted in sound judgment rather than a business built on promises.
Speaking at the maiden March 2026 Call to the Bar ceremony held at the University of Ghana, the Chief Justice addressed 155 newly enrolled lawyers, reminding them of the ethical responsibilities that come with their profession.
He stressed that honesty, reliability, and discipline are essential traits for legal practitioners, noting that the justice system depends heavily on the credibility of those who serve within it. According to him, the legal profession demands a commitment to truth and fairness at all times.
The Chief Justice further urged the new lawyers to remain conscious of their conduct both in and outside the courtroom, as their actions reflect not only on themselves but also on the broader legal fraternity.
He encouraged them to dedicate their careers to the service of justice and the protection of the rule of law, warning against any actions that could undermine public trust in the legal system.
The ceremony marks a significant milestone for the newly qualified lawyers, who are now expected to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s justice delivery system.
