Suame MP John Darko granted enquiry bail as EOCO probes GH¢27m financial loss to SIC Savings and Loans

The Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) has granted Suame MP John Darko enquiry bail after questioning him in connection with investigations into an alleged criminal conspiracy involving SIC Savings and Loans Company, with the financial loss now estimated at approximately GH¢27 million.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, EOCO said Mr. Darko honoured the Office’s invitation and reported to its premises at exactly 12 noon to assist investigators with information relevant to the case.

According to EOCO, the Suame MP was cooperative and responsive throughout the investigative process.

It added that the decision to grant him enquiry bail took into consideration the circumstances of the case, the applicable law, and his level of cooperation with investigators.

The Office also disclosed that Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah, the former Managing Director of SIC Life Savings and Loans, had honoured EOCO’s invitation and was cooperating with investigators.

EOCO has however cautioned that the investigation remains active and that no conclusions have been reached regarding the culpability or otherwise of any person connected to the matter.
