Manhyia South MP, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has reported himself to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), accompanied by his lawyer, Atta Akyea.
His appearance follows an arrest warrant issued by the Accra High Court on Wednesday, September 30, after EOCO told the court it had exhausted reasonable means of securing his voluntary attendance.
EOCO is investigating alleged financial loss and money laundering in connection with its probe into SIC Life Savings and Loans Company Limited.
The MP has previously maintained that he was not the subject of the investigation and said his law firm had cooperated with EOCO by providing information and a written statement.
The latest development comes after an earlier attempt by EOCO to arrest him at the Accra High Court on September 23 sparked criticism from the Ghana Bar Association over the manner of the attempted arrest.
