Ghana’s tallest man, Awuche will no longer require amputation of leg following Ibrahim Mahama’s intervention

Ghana’s tallest man, Abdul-Samed Suleman, popularly known as Awuche, will no longer undergo the amputation of his left leg following a fresh medical assessment by doctors at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

The update was provided by Rafik Mahama, Special Aide to businessman and philanthropist Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, who said he had engaged with the hospital’s management and medical team on Ibrahim Mahama’s behalf after Awuche was referred from the Nalerigu Baptist Medical Centre.

“I am pleased to inform the public that, on behalf of Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, I have engaged with the management and medical team at the Tamale Teaching Hospital following Awuche’s arrival at the facility a few days ago,” Rafik Mahama said in a statement.

He explained that after a thorough assessment, the medical team reviewed Awuche’s condition and recommended the most appropriate course of treatment.

“Following a detailed reassessment by the dedicated medical team at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, after a referral from the Nalerigu Baptist Medical Centre, Awuche’s left leg will not undergo amputation as was earlier communicated to the family through the referral to the Tamale Teaching Hospital,” he stated.

Rafik Mahama assured the public that Mr. Ibrahim Mahama remains committed to supporting Awuche throughout his treatment and recovery.

“On behalf of Mr Ibrahim Mahama, I wish to assure Awuche and his family of our continued support. Mr Ibrahim Mahama remains committed to assisting with his medical care and covering the necessary expenses related to his treatment,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation to Ghanaians for their concern and support, while commending the management and medical team at the Tamale Teaching Hospital for their professionalism and dedication.

“We sincerely appreciate the concern and support shown by Ghanaians, as well as the commitment of the management and medical team at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

“We wish Awuche successful treatment, a smooth recovery, and a return to good health,” Rafik Mahama added.
