Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has accused the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) of attempting to appropriate achievements of the Nana Addo administration.
Speaking to the Minority Caucus ahead of Parliament’s resumption, Dr. Bawumia urged NPP Members of Parliament to vigorously defend the record of the previous government and challenge what he described as attempts by the current administration to rewrite history.
According to him, several ongoing projects and policies being highlighted by the government were initiated under the administration of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The former Vice President said the NPP government implemented key interventions across sectors including infrastructure, digitalization, education and economic reforms, insisting the party’s legacy must not be undermined.
Dr. Bawumia therefore called on Minority MPs to remain united and proactive in communicating the achievements of the Akufo-Addo administration to Ghanaians.
His comments come as Parliament reconvenes amid heightened political debate between the Majority and Minority over governance, the economy and implementation of ongoing national projects.
