Police Arrest Counsellor Lutterodt Over Call to Exhume Daddy Lumba’s Body

Popular Ghanaian marriage counsellor Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, widely known as Counsellor Lutterodt, has reportedly been arrested by the Ghana Police Service for allegedly inciting violence.

According to reports, the controversial media personality allegedly called on Ga youth to exhume the body of late highlife musician Daddy Lumba from a residence at East Legon.

The alleged comments, which circulated widely on social media, sparked public outrage, with many describing them as inflammatory and capable of causing unrest.

Police are said to have picked up Lutterodt for questioning as part of investigations into incitement and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace under Ghana’s criminal laws., inder the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29) and the Public Order Act, 1994 (Act 491).

The arrest comes amid tensions and disagreements surrounding the burial arrangements of the late highlife icon, whose death triggered disputes within sections of his family and traditional authorities.

As of the time of reporting, the police had not issued a detailed official statement on the arrest, but investigations are ongoing.
