Ghana’s Black Queens are proving unstoppable at the 2026 Pink Ladies Cup, delivering another masterclass performance with a resounding 4-0 victory over Russia. This commanding win, their second consecutive 4-0 triumph in the tournament, has solidified their momentum as they fine-tune preparations for the upcoming 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The Queens showcased blistering form, overcoming earlier concerns about regional tensions in the Middle East. The Ghana Football Association swiftly reassured the public of the squad’s safety, allowing the team to focus entirely on their mission in Dubai.
From the first whistle, Ghana played with confidence and purpose. The breakthrough came early, in the 8th minute, when Stella Nyamekye expertly converted a neat pass from the ever-influential Doris Boaduwaa. The goal ignited the team, and just nine minutes later, Boaduwaa herself doubled Ghana’s lead with a fierce, unstoppable strike.
Doris Boaduwaa continued to be a central figure, netting her second goal of the match in the 33rd minute, courtesy of a brilliant setup from Nyamekye. This powerful first-half display effectively put the game beyond Russia’s reach before the break.
Ghana maintained their pressure in the second half, searching for further opportunities. The final flourish arrived deep into added time when Patience Ajegipina Zakaria struck, making it two goals in as many appearances for the national team and completing the 4-0 rout.
Following their initial 4-0 dismantling of Hong Kong, these back-to-back dominant wins place the Black Queens in a prime position. They now stand on the brink of becoming the first African nation to lift the Pink Ladies Cup, a title previously claimed by Russia and South Korea. Their final group stage match against Tanzania on Friday, March 6, will be crucial.
With such sharpness, discipline, and attacking flair on display, the Black Queens are clearly determined to seize the moment and bring the Pink Ladies Cup home.
