The Black Stars of Ghana will take on Austria in an international friendly as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The match is scheduled for March 27, 2026, at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna, with kickoff set for 17:00 GMT. It forms part of Ghana’s final build-up to the tournament, which will be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
Ghana have already secured qualification for the World Cup and have been drawn into Group I alongside England, Croatia, and Panama. The Black Stars will open their campaign on June 17, 2026, against Panama in Toronto, before facing England in Boston on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
The friendly against Austria is expected to provide head coach and technical team with a valuable opportunity to assess squad readiness against European opposition ahead of the global showpiece.
Austria, meanwhile, are drawn in Group J of the World Cup, where they will compete against reigning champions Argentina, Algeria, and Jordan. The fixture against Ghana will serve as a key test for both sides as they fine-tune tactics and personnel ahead of the tournament.
