Veep meets Cape Coast MPs, Assembly over 8-year Development Plan

Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has met a delegation from the Cape Coast made up of Metropolitan Chief Executive George Arthur and members of Parliament from the capital city. The Vice President during the meeting discussed development of the Cape Coast Metropolis.

In a post on her social media page, the Vice President disclosed the delegation paid a New Year courtesy call and extended their goodwill, expressing hope for strength and clarity as government continues efforts to reset the nation.

According to the Vice President, the delegation presented an eight-year development plan for the metropolis. Key components of the plan include the refurbishment and eventual operation of the late President Evans Atta Mills Library, as well as the rehabilitation of the Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital.

She noted that the discussions covered ways government support could help make Cape Coast more vibrant and economically viable, alongside local fundraising initiatives aimed at supporting development efforts within the metropolis.

The Vice President further stated that she encouraged the Assembly to involve residents of Cape Coast in decision-making processes to promote ownership of development initiatives and strengthen public commitment to change.

She also emphasised the need for the Assembly to pursue metropolitan development in tandem with the broader national development agenda
