The Vice-President of the Republic of Ghana, Her Excellency Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has departed Ghana for Luanda, Angola, represent His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama at the 7th African Union–European Union (AU–EU) Summit, taking place from 24–25 November 2025.
According to a statement from her press secretary Ama Pratt, the Vice President will deliver Ghana’s national statement on behalf of the President and underscore Ghana’s openness to equitable partnerships between Africa and Europe, rooted in mutual respect, shared prosperity, and strategic cooperation. On global governance, she will call for a more inclusive multilateral order.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang will address an audience of Heads of State, EU and AU leaders, and global stakeholders. She is expected outline Ghana’s priorities in economic stability, job creation, food security, climate action, peace and security, and value-chain transformation — particularly in agriculture and cocoa.
The Vice President according to the statement will also highlight Ghana’s ongoing economic recovery and structural reforms, including the government’s flagship 24-Hour Economy, Ghana’s commitment to local value addition in cocoa, expanded infrastructure under the Big Push Initiative, strengthened agricultural financing and the empowerment of women via the forthcoming Women’s Development Bank.
