A deadly attack occurred on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Binduri Sakpari Natinga in the Binduri district of the Upper East Region. At approximately 6:30 pm, gunmen stormed a house, shooting the landlord and two students dead. Two others were injured in the attack and are currently receiving treatment at the Garu hospital.

The chief of Sakpari, Naba Salafu Akolbilla, expressed deep disappointment in an interview with Atungo Iddrisu Kassim about the government’s handling of the security situation in the Binduri area. He alleged that the military personnel stationed at Binduri are exacerbating the conflict, putting lives at risk.

“The way the government is handling the issues in Binduri is worrisome. We suspect that the military stationed here are adding friction to kill us. Something must be done about it,” Naba Akolbilla stated.

The chief is calling for immediate action to address the situation, including investigating where the military personnel are currently stationed in the area. He urged the authorities to take concrete steps to ensure the safety and security of residents in the Binduri area.

The insecurity in Binduri has taken a devastating turn, with schools in the area shutting down .

In a separate incident, the residence of the Member of Parliament was set ablaze by unknown gunmen, further exacerbating the already volatile situation.
