E/R: 3 busted for possessing $10.5 million fake US dollar Notes stashed in student’s trunk granted bail

The Akosombo Divisional Command in Eastern Region have confirmed the arrest of three (3) suspects for the possession of 105 bundles of forged U.S Dollars in $100 notes kept in student’s trunk at Larsi,a suburb of Odumase-Krobo.

105 bundles of $100 sum up to $10,500,000.

According to an official statement signed by Chief Inspector Bridget Opoku,Public Relations Officer for Eastern Regional Polive Command ,the suspects Ebenezer Narh-Tsu aged 20, George Attor aged 48, and Bishop Robert Olertey 54 were arrested March 11,2026 through an intelligence-led operation by the Odumase-Krobo District Police at their hideout at Larsi.

One suspect Bishop Robert Olertey is alleged to have offered a bribe of Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (Gh$20,000.00) to the arresting officers who rejected his offer and went on to arrest and hand them over to the Akosombo Divisional CID for investigations.

On Friday 13th March, 2026, suspect Ebenezer Narh-Tsu was arraigned before the Odumase-Krobo Circuit Court on the motion of Notice of detention but was granted bail in the sum of Ghc100,000.00 with two(2) sureties to report to the Police every Monday for two weeks to assist in investigations.

The other two (2) suspects have also been granted Police Enquiry bail while investigation continues.

The Police called on the general public Police called on the general Public to be vigilant against counterfeit currencies to avoid financial loss.
