NDC Appoints Mahdi Gibrill as Acting Director of Elections and IT

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has appointed Mahdi Gibrill as the Acting Director of Elections and Information Technology (IT), a move ratified by the party’s Functional Executive Committee and effective immediately. The appointment was formalised in a letter dated January 29, 2026, signed by NDC General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey. Gibrill’s new role places him in charge of coordinating the party’s election operations, strategy, data systems and IT functions, and he is expected to work closely with senior party structures to ensure these responsibilities are executed in line with party regulations. The acting appointment follows the death of the NDC’s former Director of Elections and IT, Dr Edward Omane Boamah.
