Nkrumah Park Earns GH¢10m From 266,000 Visitors in 2025 — Executive Director

The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park generated GH¢10 million in revenue in 2025 after welcoming 266,000 visitors, according to its Executive Director, Dr Collins Nunyonameh.

He said the figures mark a notable increase in revenue compared to previous years, underscoring the park’s growing status as a leading cultural and historical attraction in Ghana. Domestic visitors accounted for 75 per cent of total patronage, while international tourists made up 25 per cent.

Dr Nunyonameh noted that patronage has risen steadily since the park reopened in July 2023. In both 2023 and 2024, the park recorded an estimated 333,000 visitors annually, generating just under GH¢8 million each year.

He attributed the revenue growth to improved facility management, enhanced visitor experience, and increased promotion of Ghana’s heritage tourism. He also explained that international visitors pay about four times the entry fee charged to domestic tourists.

Dr Nunyonameh added that although visitor numbers in 2025 were lower than in 2024, revenue increased by approximately GH¢2 million. Of the internally generated funds, 34 per cent is retained by the government, while the park keeps 66 per cent.

Dedicated to Ghana’s first President, the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park remains a major destination for tourists, students, and researchers. Management is optimistic that visitor numbers will continue to grow with ongoing facility upgrades and tourism promotion.
