Ghana Hostels Limited has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that accommodation fees at Legon Pent Hall have been increased by 90%.
In a statement dated May 4, 2026, the management described the reports as “false, malicious, and a complete fabrication,” stressing that no such decision has been taken regarding hostel charges.
According to the statement, an image being shared online and attributed to a media source was not authorized by the company and does not represent any official communication from management.
The company further clarified that any adjustments to hostel fees would go through internal review processes and stakeholder engagement before being announced through official channels.
Management urged students, parents, and the public to disregard the circulating claims and rely only on verified communication platforms for information relating to hostel accommodation and fees.
The statement added that investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the alleged misinformation, with the company indicating that legal action could be taken against individuals found responsible for spreading false information.
