Rev Ntim Fordjour demands retraction from Angel Maxine over ‘defamatory’ claims amid LGBTQ+ Bill debate

Lawyers for Assin South MP John Ntim Fordjour have demanded a retraction and apology over what they describe as “vile and defamatory” claims circulated online by transgender musician Angel Maxine, threatening legal action if the demands are not met.

The legal move follows renewed public debate triggered during discussions on the proposed Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill 2025, where allegations about the MP’s alleged relationship with Angel Maxine resurfaced.

During a stakeholder engagement, Samuel Nartey George referenced the claims, questioning whether individuals making such statements should face prosecution under the proposed law.

“He now claims that he’s having sexual intercourse with Hon. Ntim Fordjour… why are we saying that this individual is not prosecutable?” he said.

In a swift response, Ntim Fordjour categorically denied the allegations. “I have never engaged in any such act,” he stated, insisting the claims are false and damaging.

His lawyers argue the comments are not only defamatory but malicious, demanding “an immediate retraction and an unqualified apology” from Angel Maxine across all platforms where the claims were made.

They warn that failure to comply will trigger legal proceedings, including claims for damages.
