The atmosphere at Enyan Abaasa in the Central Region was filled with tradition and celebration as chiefs, elders and residents gathered for the annual Enyan Abaasa Akwambo Festival.
It was at this traditional gathering that Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Ajumako Enyan Essiam, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, took the opportunity to express his appreciation to constituents for their trust and support throughout his 18 years of service in Parliament.
Addressing the durbar, Dr. Ato Forson said the festival offered him an opportunity to return home and personally thank the people who have continued to support him throughout his parliamentary journey.
He acknowledged that his current responsibilities as Finance Minister have made it more difficult for him to visit the constituency as frequently as he used to.
Dr. Ato Forson said despite his busy schedule, he remains deeply connected to the people and grateful for their understanding.
He expressed particular appreciation to the people of Enyan Abaasa for continuing to stand by him and trusting him to represent their interests.
Dr. Ato Forson also paid tribute to the Paramount Chief of the Enyan Abaasa Traditional Area, Osagyefo Kwamena Akonu, for his guidance and counsel.
He recalled the chief’s advice to concentrate on his work, properly represent the constituency and stay away from wrongdoing, while assuring him that the people back home would be well cared for.
Dr. Ato Forson said he was encouraged by what he saw upon his return to the constituency, noting that the affairs of the people had been well managed.
He further used the occasion to reaffirm his appreciation to the chiefs, elders and residents for their continued support as he combines his parliamentary duties with his responsibilities as Finance Minister.
