Former Assin Central MP and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has issued a strong warning to elements within his party, insisting he will not be silenced over his recent criticisms of government and party leadership.
Agyapong’s comments follow growing backlash within the NPP over his remarks on stalled government projects, including the Afari Military Hospital, which he says should have been completed after years of public investment.
Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Net2 TV, he dismissed claims that his criticisms are driven by bitterness following internal party contests, stressing that his concerns are focused on governance and accountability.
According to him, the delayed completion of major infrastructure projects reflects broader challenges in public administration. He further questioned progress on flagship initiatives such as Agenda 111, suggesting that several contracts may have been mishandled.
“The NPP says I am bitter. I will not say anything to them… If they provoke me, I will spill the beans all over the place,” he warned.
Agyapong also alleged that issues of corruption, kickbacks, and contract manipulation cut across political parties, claiming similar practices exist within both the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He, however, did not provide evidence for the claims.
His remarks have reignited internal debate within the NPP, with supporters and critics divided over his outspoken style and continued public criticism of party leadership.
