Ghana Boxing Authority sets June 4 for key elections to choose new executive board

The Interim Management Committee of the Ghana Boxing Authority has announced Thursday, June 4, 2026, as the date for its Extraordinary Congress and Executive Board Elections.

The highly anticipated elections will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium from 9:00 a.m., where delegates are expected to elect a new leadership team to steer the affairs of boxing in the country.

Positions up for grabs include President, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Treasurer, and four Executive Board Member slots. The election is expected to attract keen interest from stakeholders within Ghana’s boxing fraternity as the Authority seeks to usher in a new administration.

According to the election roadmap released by the Interim Management Committee, nomination forms will be made available from Thursday, May 14, while completed forms must be submitted by Tuesday, May 19, 2026. Candidates are required to submit endorsed nomination forms together with passport photographs, nomination fees, and a brief statement outlining their qualifications and background.

The official list of approved candidates is expected to be published on May 22 and 23. The GBA also stated that only members and associations in good standing will be eligible to vote, while delegates must be properly nominated and submitted to the Secretariat before the deadline. A three-member committee to oversee the electoral process is expected to be announced in the coming days.
