Accra, Ghana – The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has revoked the Akango, Salman, and Nkroful mining leases of Adamus Resources Limited after investigations confirmed illegal mining activities on their concessions.
Accorsing to a tstatement the Minerals Commission’s investigation revealed that the company:
- Sub-contracted mining without ministerial consent.
- Operated without approved mining plans or valid permits.
- Failed to secure approvals from regulatory bodies, including the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA).
- Engaged foreign nationals in “galamsey” operations.
- Conducted substandard mining outside approved areas, causing environmental degradation and risks to water bodies, public health, and livelihoods.
The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources directed the revocation in line with Ghana’s Minerals and Mining Act, citing the deliberate violations and public interest.
