Deputy Education Minister Dr. Clement Apaak has urged students of Wesley Grammar School to take responsibility for shaping the institution’s future as it marks its 70th anniversary.
Dr. Apaak made the call during the school’s 70th anniversary celebration in Accra on Saturday, where he encouraged students to recognise their role in continuing the institution’s legacy.
“You are the custodians of the future of this great institution. The next chapter of Wesley Grammar’s story will be written by you,” he said.
Dr. Apaak urged the students to pursue academic excellence while building strong character that reflects the values of the school.
“Pursue excellence in your studies, embrace innovation, use technology to expand your knowledge and creativity, but above all, let your character be as strong as your intellect,” he stated.
He further encouraged them to uphold discipline, integrity and service as defining values of a Wesley Grammar student.
“Let discipline, integrity, and service remain the values that define a Wesley Grammar student,” he said.
Dr. Apaak also urged the school community to focus on preparing the institution for the future by strengthening digital learning and encouraging innovation.
“The future of Wesley Grammar School must be one of continued transformation where digital learning is strengthened, where science and technology flourish, and where creativity and innovation are encouraged,” he said.
He added that partnerships with alumni, communities and development partners would be key to sustaining the school’s growth and progress.
“If we remain united in this shared vision, Wesley Grammar School will not only preserve its proud heritage but rise to even greater heights in the decades ahead,” he added.
Dr. Apaak also commended the founders, administrators and teachers whose dedication helped build the institution into a respected school over the past seven decades.
“Seventy years of Wesley Grammar School represents seventy years of faith, dedication, discipline, and excellence,” he said.
He congratulated the school community on reaching the milestone and assured them of government support for the institution’s continued development.
