Police in the Bono East Region have seized 397 slabs of dried plant material suspected to be cannabis following a roadside accident involving a tricycle in Techiman.
According to the Bono East Regional Police Command, the incident occurred on March 8, 2026, around 2:00 p.m., when an unregistered Motor King tricycle, ridden by 48-year-old Robert Tannor, carrying 14 bags of charcoal, collided with a stationary Kia Rhino truck near Techiman Methodist Park.

Upon inspection, police discovered that the charcoal bags were concealing a large quantity of the suspected cannabis. “A total of 397 slabs were retrieved from the scene,” the police statement confirmed.

Mr. Tannor sustained serious leg injuries in the accident and was rushed to Holy Family Hospital, Techiman, for treatment. He remains under police guard while investigations continue.

The Kia Rhino truck reportedly fled the scene. Police are appealing to members of the public to help identify and locate the driver to aid ongoing investigations.
