Real Madrid put recent setbacks behind them with a 2-0 victory over UD Levante at the Santiago Bernabéu, narrowing the points gap at the top to one.
Kylian Mbappé converted a penalty with composure to give Madrid the lead. Raúl Asencio then doubled Los Blancos’ advantage with a powerful header from an Arda Güler corner, sealing the 2-0 win.
Mbappé has now taken his goal tally for the season to 30 goals in just 26 games. He is currently the top scorer in both the Champions League and La Liga. Despite a challenging season for Real Madrid, Mbappé has consistently carried the team and continues to prove his elite quality.
On the touchline, head coach Álvaro Arbeloa recorded his first win after previously losing 3-2 to Albacete Balompié in the Copa del Rey on Thursday. For Madrid, the result also marked their ninth clean sheet in La Liga, the highest by any club this season.
