Anthony Joshua Stops Jake Paul in round six in Miami

Anthony Joshua finally got the better of Jake Paul, stopping the YouTube sensation in six rounds at Miami’s Kaseya Center in a heavily anticipated mismatch. Paul, a novice boxer, spent much of the fight on the back foot, evading Joshua’s attacks with frantic footwork, but ultimately succumbing to the Brit’s power.

Joshua grew increasingly frustrated as Paul refused to engage, instead opting to dance around the ring and clinch whenever Joshua closed the distance. But the two-time world champion’s patience paid off in the fifth round, when he knocked Paul down twice with a series of devastating combinations.

Paul was down again in the sixth, and Joshua sealed the win with a perfectly placed right hand that sent the American tumbling to the canvas for the final time. The crowd breathed a sigh of relief as Paul slowly rose to his feet and made his way out of the ring.

“It wasn’t the best performance,” Joshua admitted. “The end goal was to pin Jake Paul down and hurt him. It took a bit longer than expected, but the right hand finally found the destination.”

The victory marked Joshua’s 29th win in 33 pro fights, and he now sets his sights on a potential showdown with Tyson Fury in 2026. “Come fight one of the ‘realest’ fighters out there,” Joshua taunted Paul. “Step in there with me next if you’re a really bad boy.”

Paul, 28, failed to deliver on his promise of an upset, struggling to cope with Joshua’s size and power. Despite landing some shots, he spent much of the fight on the back foot, clutching at Joshua’s legs and tumbling to the canvas.

The bout’s outcome was never in doubt, but it raised questions about the safety risks of such a mismatch.
