Dear Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah and Hon. Solomon Kusi Brako,
As a concerned constituent of Oda Aboabo, I humbly appeal to both of you to put aside your political differences and serve the people of Oda with sincerity, unity, and a genuine heart. The development of our constituency must come before personal or political interests.
To My Member of Parliament, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah:
You have been given a four-year mandate to represent the people of Oda and to ensure that our constituency receives its fair share of national development. As you look ahead to 2028 and possible re-election, remember that before the general elections, there will be internal primaries — often the most difficult hurdle. Reflect on the case of Hon. William Agyapong Quaitoo, who was called to render accountability and subsequently lost his seat in the primaries. Power ultimately belongs to the people, and they alone decide who represents them in Parliament. Serve them diligently.
To My Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Solomon Kusi Brako:
It is important to foster a healthy and cooperative working relationship with your MP. Remember, your position is not guaranteed for four years — the President can revoke your appointment at any time. Focus on development and service to the people of Oda. I have noticed some of the projects you have initiated, and I urge you to ensure their timely and quality completion. Leave behind a legacy of progress, not division.
To Both Leaders:
The current tension and public exchanges between your offices are deeply concerning and entirely unacceptable. The people of Oda deserve better. You must work together to complete projects started under previous administrations and begin new ones for the collective good. Akim Oda does not belong to any individual or political party — it belongs to the people.
This growing trend of counter-accusations and credibility attacks sets a dangerous precedent. It undermines development and public confidence. I urge you both to cease fire immediately and focus on collaboration and service with dignity and humility.
I also call upon our Traditional Authorities and the Christian Council to intervene in constituencies where such divisions exist between MPs and MCEs. Their mediation is needed now more than ever to restore harmony and progress.
A word to the wise is enough.
Sincerely,
Prince Essien
Concerned Citizen, Oda Aboabo
